Lilkafest: Tick

Hels invited me to go along to Lilkafest, which was held in Meningie this weekend.

She’s one of the organisers and it was her and her 2 brothers who decided to start the festival…

Mannum Waterfalls: Tick

It’d had been a while since I’d visited something new and pretty, so this weekend I decided it was time for me to head to Mannum to see the waterfalls.

P.S I never found the waterfalls, but it was very pretty regardless. ;o)

Pizza in the Garage: Tick

On the third Saturday of every month, Heritage Pies in Middleton run an event called “Pizza in the Garage”.  It’s basically a little extension on the bakery where they cook up wood fired pizza, get some local musos in, and invite people along to either take the pizza away, or spend the evening soaking up the atmosphere.

This weekend though, they opened on the Sunday to hold a very special fundraiser for the Baby Golding Trust Foundation.  I went a little before all of the action kicked off and had a chat to Vicky about how the “Pizza in the Garage” event came to be….

P.S They ended up raising over $10,000 for the Baby Golding Trust Foundation.

The BIG Olive: Tick

Following on from my fascination of Big Aussie Icons (See: Big Rocking Horse) I realised that I had yet to visit The Big Olive, in Tailem Bend.

Not only did I get to mark another big thing off the list (this one isn’t even in my book of ‘Big Australian Icons’!) but I also learnt about the ins-and-outs of olive oil – how it’s made and what the differences are between different sorts, AND got a tour of the factory where they make the Olive Oil, it was all really quite interesting!
